Assassin’s Creed Mirage to Launch on October 5th, a Week Ahead of Schedule
Ubisoft is altering the schedule of major game releases this fall by moving up the release date of one of its upcoming games. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will now be available on October 5th, a week earlier than originally planned.
The move gives the game a bit more distance from another big open-world action-adventure game in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (which is set to arrive on PS5 on October 20th). However, Assassin’s Creed Mirage now faces Detective Pikachu Returns, which debuts on Switch on October 6.

On behalf of the entire team, we can’t wait for you to explore 9th Century Baghdad with Basim.

Ubisoft takes Assassin’s Creed back to its roots with Mirage. It’s smaller in scope than the most recent entries, the last of which (Assassin’s Creed Valhalla) takes around 60 hours to beat – the game usually takes well over 100 hours to complete. Ubisoft’s internal playtests show that Mirage takes around 20-23 hours to beat and around 25-30 hours to complete.
Set two decades before Valhalla, Mirage is primarily set in ninth-century Baghdad. There’s more emphasis on stealth and parkour than recent Assassin’s Creed games, while protagonist Basim Ibn Ishaq can slow down time to help you plan your assassinations. In addition, Mirage has full Arabic dubbing and subtitles that can help the game feel more immersive.
Ubisoft has a busy month ahead of it. Along with Mirage, The Crew Motorfest arrives on September 14th, while Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is dated for December 7th. XDefiant, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR and the mobile game Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence are also scheduled to arrive by the end of the year. Skull and Bones still exists somewhere.
